Autumn 2017: Must visit design events for the A&D community

With another busy season well underway, our team is preparing to exhibit at some of autumn’s biggest design events.

British Ceramics Biennial (23 September – 5 November 2017)

First up is the British Ceramics Biennial, kicking off on 23 September 2017. A true celebration of The Potteries, the event champions local manufacturers and designers alike – highlighting the excellent standard of work that is continually produced here in Stoke-on-Trent.

As headline sponsors, we’re looking forward to the many activities taking place over the course of the six-week event. Comprising engaging exhibitions, insightful installations and hands-on activities showcasing the creative potential of clay, the festival will reflect the thriving contemporary ceramics industry.

Adding to the importance of this year’s BCB is its tie in with the Stoke-on-Trent 2021 City of Culture bid. Our involvement with this, alongside having been the UK’s leading tile manufacturer for over 100 years, adds extra clout to our sponsorship.

Visitors can soak up the heritage that exists at our city’s heart in this year’s main hub, Spodeworks. In addition to the main festival, the BCB’s flagship exhibition Awardwill take centre stage in Spode’s China Hall, showcasing the work of 10 artists competing for the £5,000 prize. This is another area of the festival that we’re proud to be sponsoring.

The British Ceramics Biennial will take place in Stoke-on-Trent from 23 September to 5 November 2017. For more information visit www.britishceramicsbiennial.com.

Surface & Materials Show at UK Construction Week (10-12 October 2017)

The UK’s largest construction trade event, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC, UK Construction Week is a staple on the A&D calendar. Split into nine areas, the Surface & Materials Show focuses on the latest trailblazing innovations from designers and manufacturers, both big and small. At the heart of the show is the Hub space, which Material Lab will once again curate this year. As sponsors of the area, we’ll be showcasing a variety of our latest products in the flooring and wallcovering arenas.
