On Friday 8 December, the final announcement will be made as to which of the six shortlisted cities will have clinched the highly coveted title. Today, the team behind the bid gives its final presentation in Hull, before leaving the judges to their difficult decision.

Stoke-on-Trent has been the home of Johnson Tiles since 1901. The heartland of the UK’s ceramics industry, it’s been a hotbed of creative talent for over a hundred years.

Building on its rich heritage, recent events such as the British Ceramics Biennial, held in the city last month, showcased the sheer wealth of skill still prevalent today. Designers, artists, makers and manufacturers populate the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent, inspired by the industrial past, present and future.

As a manufacturer, we’re at the cutting-edge of technology, constantly investing in the latest innovations to ensure we forever remain at the forefront of our industry.

We’re hugely proud of all that’s been achieved so far in being shortlisted, and stand alongside our peers in eagerly awaiting the result – come on Stoke!
