Key trends from 100% Design, London Design Festival

OKKA makes decorative and acoustic panels from Estonian pine needles, using nature to create modern design. 

Carrara is still a strong contender for 2016's key trends, and features on many products displayed throughout the show. Here Carrara Lego used as furniture offers something slightly out of the ordinary. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. 

The concrete trend still remains strong, shown here by LYON BETON concrete living. The wall has varying textured qualities set within the concrete.

A concrete cloud toilet roll holder makes a spectacle of the mundane, with amusing results. The body of the chair is also made of concrete, with a rough, hand-carved look, and the legs are made of rusting metal.

After a trend-packed day at Focus/15, our Design Team headed to 100% Design, located this year at new venue Olympia, London. Held over two floors, 100% Design is the ‘commercial cornerstone event’ of the London Design Festival.

This year’s theme is ‘Design in Colour’, and the organisers of 100% Design have collaborated closely with trend forecasters WGSN.  The top colour trends for 2016 can be seen exhibited throughout the show, demonstrating the sheer importance of colour within the A&D community.
