Forget-me-not: Families remember loved ones with ceramic flowers at Edinburgh hospice

St Columba’s Hospice is Edinburgh’s only independent hospice and provides free specialist palliative care, emotional and spiritual support to over 1,300 patients and their families and friends every year. 

Each of the 800 Tribute Fund Forget-Me-Not flowers in the hospice’s courtyard garden are individually unique, hand-made by our artists at our Stoke-on-Trent factory, and triple glazed to ensure a lasting reminder for families for years to come.

The creation of the Forget-Me-Nots follows our international acclaim for making over half of the Tower of London’s iconic ceramic poppies to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, and once again we felt truly honoured to be involved in the creation of such a personal and poignant memorial.

St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh is blooming with Forget-Me-Nots after we created a garden of ceramic flowers for the hospice’s new Tribute Funds initiative.

The Tribute Funds allow bereaved families to fundraise for the hospice in memory of their loved one. When a fund is set up a flower is allocated to the family, and on the first donation, a delicate copper leaf - which can be inscribed with a message – is added to the flower stem.
