Danielle Wyatt, our winner of New Designers 2016 Part One, joins us for a special placement

After spotting the talented work of Danielle Wyatt at New Designers this year and awarding her our coveted Associate Prize, we offered her a two-week placement at our headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.

To complete her brief, Danielle produced visualisations of her final tile designs (which you can see below), showcasing the various possible layouts and creating a wealth of new looks for the home.

Speaking of her work placement, our designer Amy Pears said: "It was a pleasure to have Danielle with us for two weeks. She's a very keen and self-motivated creative, and her talent and desire to experiment and push boundaries certainly impressed."

Danielle spent some time in the Johnson Tiles factory, learning about our processes and experimenting with her design ideas, using different techniques in the research and development lab.

She also went with our Design Team on research days, exploring different areas of the market and gathering inspiration from architecture.

Joining our Design Team, the printed textile designer from Leicester DeMontfort University was given a brief to produce a collection of decorative and field tiles, focusing on surface detail and pattern, and exploring the latest colours and trends.
