Milan Design Week 2025: A Restorative Reset

Inspired by the calming, nature-led and nostalgic themes of Milan Design Week 2025, we explore how these design trends are reflected across our tile collections.

Milan Design Week 2025 once again united the world’s leading creatives for a vibrant celebration of design innovation and inspiration. Throughout the city, an invigorating energy flowed as designers unveiled collections that strike a harmonious balance between function and beauty.

This year, two key themes emerged: a retro reset and restorative wellness. The retro influence was felt in nostalgic shapes reimagined with a minimalist twist, while wellness-focused design embraced calm, comfort, and natural materials.

Organic forms were everywhere, with soft, fluid lines echoing nature’s curves to bring a sense of ease and quiet elegance to interiors.

Colour palettes grounded in nature remained prominent. Terracotta tones and earthy browns were teamed with muted hues and pale neutrals, creating warmth and a strong visual link to the outdoors. These natural palettes enhanced the sense of serenity designers aimed to capture.

Nature-inspired design continues to lead many key trends, with organic shapes influencing patterns, furniture, and overall aesthetics. Soft, fluid lines mimic natural curves, creating a calming and graceful flow within spaces.

Organic patterns like stone, wood, and marble veining help bring the outdoors in, while earthy tones paired with soft neutrals strengthen our connection to nature. A perfect example is our Ecostone range, available in four grounded colourways—Gold, Bronze, Graphite, and Basalt. Its authentic stone-effect finish beautifully reflects the growing biophilic design trend.

One of the standout shades of the week was Aegean teal. Seen across furniture, surfaces, and textiles, this versatile, nature-inspired hue appeared in both rich, muted versions and gentler pastel tones.

Its calming quality contributed to a wider atmosphere of wellness and connection—one of the defining stories of Milan Design Week 2025.

This look can be recreated with our Contour wall tile range, which explores 3D structuring on a slim brick format to add a playful, nostalgic edge. With a bold palette of eleven contemporary colours—including Teal, Cotto, and Garnet—Contour introduces movement and fluidity, perfectly capturing the retro-meets-modern aesthetic.
