    We were the first ceramic tile manufacturers to receive the kitemark award.

    Our quality systems and procedures have been recognised by the assessment body BSI.

    Our environmental management system has been recognised by the assessment body BSI.

  • Investors in People
    Johnson Tiles achieved the criteria for the award during 1999 and has retained it ever since.  This follows a policy of continuous improvement for its employees through training and personal development programmes.

All the above accreditation awards are subject to regular re-assessment by their awarding bodies.

  • The Queen's Award for Environmental Achievement
    This was awarded in 1997 and recognises our ceramic waste recycling scheme which prevents over 10,000 tonnes of ceramic waste being tipped in local landfill every year. The scheme involves 15 other local factories.

  • Manufacturing Industry Achievement Award.
    Environmentalist of the Year 1997.

    This award recognises our waste recovery scheme.

    European special commendation for our waste recovery programme 1998.

  • Perkins European Quality Award 1998 Winner
    Awarded for our Continuous Improvement Teams Total Employee Involvement directly in all aspects of quality.

  • The Lord Stafford Awards 1999 Winner
    A special award recognising our collaboration with a Warwick University. The award-winning project was for developing digital prototyping which accelerated tool development.

  • CFJ/CFA Floor Tile of the Year 2004
    The Flooring industry award resulted from the nominations from trade members of the Contract Flooring Association.
We manufacture our tiles to strict levels of quality control to comply with the requirements of the appropriate British Standard, and European Norms for ceramic wall and floor tiles.

With quality control being an important aspect of tile manufacture, our systems and procedures have been recognised by the British Standards institution through its achievement of EN ISO 9001 Registered Firm Status.

Our environmental management system has been recognised by the British Standards Institution and the award of ISO 14001 in 1998.
